It’s the biggest swallow in North America. Their dark blackish blue feathers have an iridescent luster caused by the refraction of incident light, giving them a bright blue to intense violet appearance. The reproductive range extends from central Alberta to the eastern United States. Dimensions: 19 - 20 cm. Wingspan: 39 - 41 cm.
